Sevé Spruill is a seasoned leader in the insurance industry, currently serving as the Director of Strategic Recruiting Practices & Executive Recruiter at The Hartford. With nearly two decades of experience, Sevé has honed his expertise in talent acquisition and diversity initiatives, consistently championing innovative recruitment strategies to attract top talent and strengthen pipelines. His role extends beyond corporate boundaries, as he actively engages in community initiatives and serves on the Diversity Council Board of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America, contributing to industry-wide efforts to promote diversity and inclusion.


Throughout his career, Sevé has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to fostering inclusive workplaces and advancing diversity in the insurance sector. He has played integral roles in organizing and participating in industry events such as the Gamma Iota Sigma Leadership Symposium and the Women and Diversity Conference, where he shares his insights on recruiting and retaining diverse talent. With a strong educational background from Morehouse College and a passion for mentorship, Sevé is dedicated to empowering professionals of color and shaping the future of the insurance industry.



As the President of the NAAIA Philadelphia Chapter, Sevé brings a dynamic vision and strategic leadership to drive positive change within the local insurance community. His mission is to create opportunities for professionals of diverse backgrounds, advocate for inclusive practices, and elevate the industry as a whole. Through his tireless efforts and collaborative approach, Sevé Spruill is shaping a more inclusive and equitable future for insurance professionals in Philadelphia and beyond.

Shanice Richardson

The Philadelphia chapter of the National African American Insurance Association is proud to have Shanice Richardson serving as our Vice President. With over a decade of experience spanning business development, underwriting, & commercial insurance, Shanice brings a wealth of industry expertise & leadership to our organization.


Currently a Business Development Underwriter at ICW Group, Shanice has held key roles at Utica National Insurance Group, Distinguished Programs, & Zurich North America. Her deep understanding of risk assessment, client relationships, & strategic growth makes her an invaluable advocate for advancing diversity & opportunity within the insurance industry.


Shanice’s dedication to fostering inclusion & empowering professionals aligns with NAAIA’s mission to support Black insurance professionals in Philadelphia & beyond. We are thrilled to have her leadership as we continue driving impact & creating meaningful opportunities.
